Professional statement

While Krystal has very limited openings for new clients, her colleagues at New England Wellness Collaborative do have availability.

Krystal Vasconcelos is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and co-founder of New England Wellness Collaborative in Providence and Hope Valley, RI. She specializes in trauma, dissociative disorders, weight management issues, substance use, anxiety, and loss and grief.

A major focus of Krystal’s practice is working with trauma survivors to examine how patterns such as emotional eating or substance use may be linked to painful past events. She helps clients to better understand the places in life where they are getting stuck, develop more effective coping methods, and heal from complex trauma. Krystal also has expertise in working with children who have developmental disabilities and concurrent mental health challenges. She works collaboratively with each child and family to provide behavioral management, offer psychoeducation, and foster a supportive environment.

Krystal’s practice welcomes clients of all ages, including couples and families. She values developing a strong therapeutic partnership with her clients, helping each individual connect with their truest self to lead a happier, more fulfilling life.

Message to clients

I am the co-founder of New England Wellness Collaborative (NEWC). I work with four other clinicians to provide individuals an opportunity to focus on their mental and physical wellness. Improving your quality of life starts with looking at your overall wellness. Life will start to change when you change the lens you use to view your problems. Navigating through the process of change can be difficult when doing so alone. We will develop a partnership and use an array of therapeutic tools that fit your needs. I have extensive training working with individuals with anxiety, weight management issues and complex trauma.
I also coach individuals utilizing Mindful Emotional Eating. A local kickboxing gym and I have joined forces to offer a 16-week mental and physical wellness program which most insurances will cover. This includes a minimum of 3 fitness classes per week, weekly weigh ins, meal plans and 2 mental health sessions a month with myself or one of our licensed therapists who specialize in weight management.
Each participant will gain concrete skills to address binge eating, mindless emotional eating, craving control and much more!
In treatment we will discover your barriers and develop a road nap that will lead you to attaining your goals!
