Laura has her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Master’s in Social Work from Boise State University providing her with the educational foundation to help others achieve their goals. Through her work with Jewish Family Services, The Arc, and Mind Your Mind, she honed her therapeutic skills through various roles and populations. A common element in her work is the importance of system theory. She believes we do not live in a vacuum, and the whole of a person’s life, not just their presenting problem, must be analyzed. Part of her philosophy is thinking that we often do not realize the breadth of our issues and their role in our lives. A clearer picture develops by examining critical areas of life (social, family, career, faith, finances, and support), allowing for personalized treatment plans. She treats the person, not just the symptoms.
