Professional statement

Lenna Salbashian is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Art Therapist in Cambridge, Massachusetts who specializes in treating eating disorders, mood related disorders, life transitions, and helping clients make sense of any existential doubts about their life purpose and direction.

Lenna’s integrative person-centered approach is rooted in the principles of holistic treatment. As a registered yoga teacher and expressive arts therapist, she helps clients access the mind and body to feel more grounded on a physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental level. She also often works from a psychotherapeutic standpoint that is skills-based and mindfulness-based; she incorporates techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), including fostering improved interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness. Her approach integrates visual arts in a way that supports the expression of each individual client and enhances play and insight through the therapeutic process.

Prior to entering private practice Lenna gained years of experience in hospitals and outpatient treatment centers, most recently working as a holistic psychotherapist for Monte Nido Eating Disorder Center. When working with clients who are overcoming eating disorders, Lenna will facilitate or communicate with other providers like psychiatrists and dietitians to ensure care across multiple levels.

Lenna works with each of her clients to help them forge their own healing path, unblock their creativity, and find greater meaning in life through a combination of verbal and artistic expression within a space of mindfulness and non-judgment.

Message to clients

I offer a space to be heard, seen, and safe within therapeutic boundaries. This is a space of freedom to be who you are, as you are now, and feel held in order to explore the depths and possibilities within you. Within this space, talking is only one of the many forms of communication and expression. I am currently accepting new clients through video-based services and am willing to offer a sliding fee scale for students or adults in need.
