Lucia Perez-Kleine is a dually licensed Mental Health Counselor and Creative Arts Therapist in New York City. She has been working in private practice since 2010 and enjoys the depth and richness that doing individual psychotherapy work offers. Her particular specialties include trauma, anxiety and depression and she has advanced, postgraduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, trauma and EMDR treatment.

Prior to establishing her private practice full-time, Lucia worked on various psychiatric units across NYC specializing in acute mental illness and addiction. Message to clients

As a mental health counselor and art therapist, I work collaboratively with you using verbal psychotherapy and/or art making to help you look more deeply at yourself within the context of your history, working to heal from deep wounds, as well as navigate challenging relationships and painful feelings. While working for over a decade in both private practice and on inpatient psychiatric units, I have successfully assisted clients struggling with a broad spectrum of problems and witnessed significant improvements in their quality of life.

Through a nonjudgmental, empathic, and collaborative approach, I seek to understand you deeply and individualize our work by finding what is most motivating and effective for you given your unique history, culture, needs, and circumstances. I strongly believe you are capable of making the changes needed to improve your life, as I have seen in my practice with clients time after time.

Brene Brown wrote, "Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.” Congratulations on taking the first steps in your journey of self-reflection and personal growth. I look forward to meeting you to see if we would make a good fit and explore your needs through an initial free phone consultation.
