Marissa Casey is a licensed clinical psychologist and PSYPACT provider in the Springfield, MO area. She works with teens and adults. Many of Dr. Casey's clients come in when they want to be more authentic in their lives and relationships, heal from past trauma, explore their identity, or decrease perfectionism. Marissa is particularly passionate about serving neurodivergent women. She also has experience working with gifted, neurodivergent, and twice-exceptional individuals.
Dr. Casey is trained in a variety of therapy skills and approaches, and tailors these abilities to best meet your therapy needs. In session, Marissa focuses on helping you better understand yourself through psychoeducation. She teaches therapeutic skills and helps you apply them to yourself and your life. This approach provides support to aid clients in decreasing self-judgement, healing from past hurts, and connecting to others more genuinely.
Marissa's style is collaborative, educational, and respectful of the client's autonomy. When she first meets a client, Dr. Casey works to make them feel welcome and accepted. Goals for each appointment are decided together. Marissa believes treatment goals she be made collaboratively and that you should be able to ask questions about your care with her.
Dr. Casey received her doctorate and Master's degrees from Forest Institute in clinical psychology. Her Bachelor's degree is from Missouri State, with a major in psychology and a minor in instrumental music. She received experience during her internship at Four County Counseling Center and postdoc at Burrell Behavioral Health Center in working with a wide variety of clients and presenting concerns. She went on to work at Burrell for six more years, gaining additional experience with rural populations, before opening her own private practice in 2021. Outside of private practice, she enjoys reading, playing video games, and spending time with her cat and husband.
