Marissa Tolero (she/her) is a licensed psychotherapist and certified yoga instructor with a virtual private practice. She specializes in LGBTQIA+ and women’s experiences, shame, and self-criticism. She incorporates compassion-focused therapy, mindfulness, person-centered therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy into every session.
Marissa received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine and her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from the City College of New York. In her previous role as a therapist on a college campus in Queens, she launched a health and wellness program for LGBTQIA+ students which she presented at two national conferences.
