Michael Turner is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Atlanta, GA. He is passionate about working with clients to improve their lives, including improving their relationships, performance at work or in their sport, and overall healthy habits. Many of Michael’s clients find themselves resorting to unhealthy behaviors like smoking or drinking to avoid facing the huge amounts of stress they have. They might stop eating because they feel so overwhelmed with the pressure they’ve placed on themselves to succeed, or they might lash out at loved ones because they can’t control their emotions. Michael helps these individuals, couples, and families find healthier ways to engage with their emotions.
Michael’s approach to therapy draws from the idea that mental health is a part of healthy living – that everyone should prioritize taking care of themselves emotionally and spiritually in addition to eating well and exercising. He practices Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which teaches clients distress management techniques for when they feel overwhelmed but want to stay in control of their emotions. Michael also practices hypnotherapy to release clients from unhealthy patterns and to provide them with alternative ways of engaging with their behaviors.
Michael provides clients with an empathetic space for clients to talk, whether that’s about their jobs, their relationships, or their performance goals. He is a kind, experienced therapist whose goal is to support their clients achieve a balanced level of health in their busy lives.
