Psychologist, PsyDDr. Michelle Solomon is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist located in RI. Dr. Solomon enjoys working with young adults and adults who would like to better understand who they are. They find themselves overwhelmed by their constant second-guessing and their chronic self-doubt. Dr. Solomon’s clients often suffer from perfectionism, intense pressure to achieve, and low self-esteem. Their drive for success gets them far in life both professionally and in relationships, however they feel anxious and insecure about themselves and their daily lives.
Dr. Solomon is passionate about healing the mind, body, and spirit. Her holistic therapy approach includes energy work so that clients benefit from understanding the energy they put into the world. Clients also learn about mindfulness, sometimes incorporating mindfulness exercises into the therapy session. Dr. Solomon also has extensive experience practicing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). These cognitive behavioral therapy types give clients tools to become more aware of their thought patterns and how their thoughts can get in the way of feeling engaged, proud, or compassionate.
Dr. Solomon earned both her Master's in Counseling and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from William James College. Her dissertation has been among the most downloaded and read papers in the country for several years running. Her research examined social media’s impact on mental health, including the sense of self and overall mental health and wellbeing. Dr. Solomon completed extensive training, including working at a college counseling center, multiple hospitals, and private practice. She coaches her clients through their mental health journey so they don’t feel alone, together celebrating their progress.
