Nat utilizes a number of approaches and draws from an eclectic knowledge base of therapeutic techniques to best meet the needs of each individual. Some of her inspiration is rooted in dialectal behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, polyvagal theory, and sex and body positive approaches. She believes in tapping into our own intrinsic and biological survival strategies and using these to help support recovery and healing. Nat is down to earth and values the innate humanity in all of us. Music, art, and humor often find their way into her office.

Message to clients

Finding the right therapist can be challenging. I understand the importance of connecting with someone who you feel comfortable talking about all of life's scary, painful, and awkward experiences. In therapy we often discuss the things that hold us back and keep us from reaching our full potential. My approach is relationship based and I don't believe that you should trust me only because of the training I have done or the letters after my name. I want to earn your trust so that when we reach the hardest parts of our work together you know that I have your back and I am on your side.

While much of what we talk about will be painful and scary, I also believe in the healing qualities in laughter and humor. While we are dismantling the narratives that have kept you trapped and stuck, finding levity and hope in the process can be helpful. Many of my client's concerns are related to trauma, addiction, and sexuality and are among some of the most challenging topics to discuss with a relative stranger. I am ready to support you in reaching the goals that you set. I welcome feedback and open communication in the therapy office. For this hour, it's all about you.

If you think we could work together please reach out for a free 15 minute consult to talk more about what you are looking for. If I am not the therapist for you I will help connect you with other options.
