Professional statement

Nicole Eckhardt is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor located in Fresno, CA. Clients who are 16 years old and older are welcomed into her practice, with Nicole’s specialty being young adults. She has experience supporting veterans, college students, adults who went through the foster care system or were adopted, and those experiencing anxiety or depression. Often, clients seek Nicole’s services when they’re going through life transitions or facing grief or trauma.

Nicole’s approach to therapy is integrative, meaning that she pulls techniques from various therapy modalities to offer clients comprehensive, tailored mental health care. Clients get help to reduce their mental health symptoms and learn how to reduce the impact of stress through effective coping strategies. Nicole enjoys incorporating art, music, or mindfulness into sessions. She also offers faith-based counseling for those who seek a religious or spiritual lens to their experiences.

Nicole earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Military Culture and Military Families from Walden University. She has over 10 years of experience as a counselor, with various professional roles in school, church, and community settings.

Message to clients

My passion in working with my clients is to walk your journey with you and help you find peace, healing, and self-acceptance. I especially enjoy working with clients between the ages of 18-35. First, with every client I will educate you about the importance of self-care as it is essential to treating you as a whole person. I specifically focus on the aspects of self-care that can get overlooked such enjoyable activities you do to relax and recharge. Self care provides an instant list of coping tools and strategies to help manage stress, anxiety, and depression. It allows you to choose how you want to respond to stressful situations instead of reacting out of stress. Self-care isn't selfish, it allows you the capacity to care for others as well as yourself. Therapy is a great place to start.

I believe in the benefits of integrating faith and counseling, but I am respectful that this is a personal choice. I am comfortable with incorporating the Bible, talking about God, and even praying with clients if a client asks. I respect that even if we don't share the same faith or beliefs, a client's faith can be an important part of their healing journey. I also value the human-animal bond and encourage incorporating your companion animal as part of your therapy process due to the strong benefits.

I would love to start walking with you on your healing journey today!

Therapist's note

I never want finances to be a barrier to services. My Reduced fee (sliding scale) spots are needs based (based on financial hardship and needs rather than income based). I make availability for up to 3 clients at a reduced fee at a time. Currently I have 2 spots available. For this reason, the agreement I make with a client for reduced-fee sessions is time-limited and re-evaluated after the first 4 months to determine if an extension is an option and/or necessary.

Please contact me for a free consultation call to inquire further about my reduced fee services.
