Professional statement

Nicole Tammelleo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Midtown Manhattan.

Nicole’s treatment approach is both relational and eclectic. She has a holistic view of therapy and uses a strengths-based approach often incorporating humor and mindfulness techniques to engage with her clients. Nicole describes her style as active and collaborative. She likes to check in with clients and ensure they are actively engaged in the therapeutic process.

Nicole works with adolescents and adults in addressing numerous issues, including depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. In addition, she sees clients who are interested in exploring their sexuality, and often have questions and concerns about sex that they have felt too ashamed to discuss and want a safe space to explore their beliefs and ideas surrounding sex.

Nicole is skilled in helping clients recover from trauma and has a certification in EMDR. She often works with survivors of sexual assault and/or abusive relationships, engaging with them to build healthy coping mechanisms and take gentle steps toward recovery. Nicole also will provide a letter for clients desiring the approval of an Emergency Support Animal.
