Professional statement

Noah Bogdonoff is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Providence, Rhode Island. He specializes in sex therapy, but is excited to work with anyone who is searching for a collaborative and nonjudgmental space to address emotional, social, or sexual issues they're tired of struggling with on their own. He is also trained in relationship therapy, and has extensive experience working with non-monogamous relationships.

Many of Noah's clients are queer people who take comfort in the fact that he's already knowledgable and experienced with queer issues. Others come to him for help understanding sexual difficulties, such as shame around their desires and behaviors, or physical difficulties such as pain or dysfunction. Noah also works well with people recovering from sexual and relationship trauma, folks who grew up in repressive or abusive religious environments, artists, and academics.

Noah received his MSW from Boston University. He also holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Washington University in St. Louis, and a BA from Vassar College. Right now, he is only accepting telehealth clients in Rhode Island.

Message to clients

I believe that the best therapy involves building a secure, positive relationship with my clients, and that the purpose of therapy is to figure out how to live genuinely and without shame even when the world makes that difficult. This means that I will accept you for who you are, meet you where you are at, and approach you with unconditional respect, even when you are struggling to be your best self.

As my client, you can expect me to tailor my approach to your specific needs. I strive to help my clients both heal from their most painful experiences as well as harness their unique strengths in order to build rich, fulfilling lives. For me, therapy is not just about becoming functional or fixing what is wrong—it is about learning who you are and where you are going.

I encourage you to reach out even (especially!) if you are nervous about therapy, or if you have had unsatisfying therapeutic experiences in the past. I strive to be engaged, creative, and completely nonjudgmental, and enjoy working with clients to find a vibe that feels useful and safe.
