Professional statement

Dr. Pali Payne-Storey is a Psychologist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Wilmington, DE. Dr. Payne-Storey has extensive experience working with the youth population, including children and teenagers. She also works with adults, couples, and families. Many of her clients struggle with their past traumatic experiences interrupting their present daily lives. They find themselves angry at small provocations, which can lead to behavioral issues, relationship conflicts, or feeling out of control of their emotions. Dr. Payne-Storey strives to give her clients the tools they need to understand and manage their feelings.

Dr. Payne-Storey’s approach to helping clients comes from thought-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which she offers in a trauma-informed manner. Clients learn how to connect their thoughts to their feelings, which can influence their behaviors. This can help them understand why they become overwhelmed with emotions like fear, frustration, or sadness, and how those feelings can lead to outbursts that negatively impact their relationship with others. She also teaches clients how to prepare for major changes in their lives by encouraging reflection on motivation and values. Dr. Payne-Storey adjusts her sessions for the age and developmental stage of each one of her clients so they can benefit from her guidance.

Dr. Payne-Storey earned a PsyD and a Master’s degree in Social Work. She is passionate about helping victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse, and brings a warm, empathetic style into each interaction.
