Pradnya Shinde is a counselor in Jersey city, New Jersey. She works with individuals and couples. Many of Pradnya’s clients come in to address anxiety, depression, maternal mental health, life transition, and addiction. Pradnya is particularly passionate about serving parents. She also have advanced training in the area of play therapy.
Pradnya is trained in holistic approach, family system approach, trauma informed approach, neuroscience, neurofeedback, mindfulness, ACT, motivational interviewing. She provides environment which creates safe landing for difficult thoughts, messy emotions and behaviors. In session, Pradnya focuses on breathing exercises, grounding tools, creative expressions such as movement/journaling, playfulness, and humor. This approach supports clients to make decisions that are aligned with their values.
Pradnya's style is warm, humorous, and engaging. When clients first start therapy, they establish a strong relationships and comfortable environment where they feel safe and heard.
Pradnya received their MA in Community Mental Health from New Jersey City University. She has worked at community clinics, schools, in-home settings, and addiction settings, working with children and families in foster care. Outside of private practice, she likes to dance and enjoys classical music. She also loves watching movies, painting, traveling. Pradnya offers remote sessions with a hope that in-person sessions will be offered in near future
