Message to clients

Rutanya Simon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Texas and Oklahoma. She works with diverse populations. She works with many people who are transitioning in life. These can be people transitioning in their careers, into adulthood or any other life transition. Rutanya is passionate about working with people of color as she is relatable and educated on the unique struggles this population undergoes.

Rutanya is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Solution Focused Therapy. CBT focuses on challenging irrational thoughts against the evidence, identifying unhealthy learned behaviors and ways to create more productive habits, and learning healthy coping skills to deal with negative emotions. Solution Focused Therapy is short-term, goal-focused therapy which incorporates positive psychology and helps clients to focus on solutions versus the problems.

Rutanya's style is conversational we will talk about the issues and specific goals the client would like to achieve through the therapeutic process. Rutanya is dedicated to building rapport and providing empathy, support and accountability.

Rutanya obtained her Master of Social Work through the University of Oklahoma. Working with Drug Court and DUI Court, Rutanya has been able to learn skills to help clients to change unhealthy habits. Working with families has allowed Rutanya to gain insight into family dynamics and ways to work with families through a non-biased lens.
