Ryan's empathetic and down-to-earth way of being a therapist creates an environment where his clients feel heard and understood and feel safe to explore who they are and what they are going through. Ryan also has extensive knowledge and expertise in cognitive therapies such as Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) which he incorporates in his work as a therapist to help his clients find healthier ways of thinking and relating to others and to themselves.

Before Ryan became a counselor, he worked in the business world for over 15 years in banking/financial services, technology, and for large multinational companies as well as small start-ups so he understands the challenges professionals face in work and in life.

Ryan has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Metropolitan State University of Denver where he graduated with honors. He has also earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. He has completed advanced training in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy at the Albert Ellis Institute in New York City. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado and New Jersey.

Message to clients

Therapy with me is engaging and thought-provoking. I will encourage you to explore and help you change how you relate to your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and beliefs in an environment where you feel safe to be yourself and where you feel heard and accepted. I work with people who seek deeper meaning in their lives, greater understanding of themselves, and who are interested in “leaving no stone unturned” in the search for greater self-understanding and self-acceptance. Doing the hard work of therapy takes courage, commitment, and time. But it is worth it and the changes you seek in your life are possible. You will find me to have a calming and approachable demeanor, and to be caring and easy to talk to.

I draw from many schools of thought, but my goal is always to foster awareness and curiosity about your experiences of life, and to give you tools to help you overcome the obstacles you face so you can create a life you enjoy living. I am located in Denver, CO and also provide therapy online across Colorado and New Jersey.
