Professional statement

Ryan Ramsey is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with men in midlife who feel lost. Men often reach out to Ryan when they feel overwhelmed by their emotions, unsure of the direction they want their lives to go, or when they feel stuck in an untenable sitation and need support and guidance to find their footing in life again.

Ryan’s style of therapy is conversational and informal and also incorporates aspects of evidence-based cognitive therapies with the goal of helping his clients make sustainable changes in how they think about themselves and relate to others so they can gain the confidence and clarity necessary to regain a sense of control and direction in the lives.

Before he became a counselor, Ryan worked for fifteen years in finance, banking, technology, and international business so he understands the challenges professionals face in work and in life. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Metropolitan State University of Denver where he graduated with honors. He has also earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. He has completed advanced training and has earned post-graduate certificates in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute in New York City. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado and New Jersey.

Message to clients

When you were younger, you thought you’d have everything figured out by now but, the truth is, you’ve never felt so lost. You’re questioning everything in your life: your career, your marriage, your friends, and, most importanly, you’re questioning who you are. You ask yourself “Is this it?” You know you want more from life but what that is you have no idea; you just know that it isn’t this. You want to feel alive again.

I help professional men in midlife who feel lost, trapped, bored, or fed-up get present, get real, and get honest with themselves so they can make the changes in their lives they want so they can be happier and more fulfilled. If you are questioning the direction of your life, who you are, and where you’re going, I can help.

I believe in your strength, and I know that you are capable of creating the life that you seek. The next step is to just reach out: call, email, or visit my website to book an initial consultation where we'll talk about you and your goals and how I can help you. I look forward to talking with you.
