Professional statement

Sarah utilizes an integrative approach of CBT, DBT, and ACT, along with mindfulness and strength-based strategies to help clients achieve their goals. She understands all clients are unique, so she fine-tunes her approach to best serve the individual. Her clients experience a welcoming environment where they are free to explore their innermost thoughts, ideas, and experiences.

As an Asian American woman, Sarah understands what it’s like to be excluded and stereotyped because of how you look. Experiencing a lack of support when she faced mental health challenges, she is on a mission to change mindsets and help everyone - regardless of the color of their skin - get the mental health support they need.

Message to clients

Working with me is a collaborative experience. Processing life's challenges together, we will uncover and unpack the internal and external challenges you have faced. I like to use a variety of therapeutic techniques, including CBT, DBT, and ACT, depending on the needs of each client.

My primary goal as a therapist is to offer my clients safety and support. I also want to break the cycle of shame in many minority communities surrounding mental health struggles. It is okay to need help and ask for help. This does not make you weak. In fact, asking for help is one of the bravest, strongest things a person can do.

If you are a member of a minority community and have struggled to connect with other therapists because they don’t share your worldview, I hope I can help. I want minorities to have the same representation and connection as other groups.
