Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSWHe/Him/His
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSWSean Stewart is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Rocky Point, NY. Sean works with young adults and adults who struggle with their emotions. These clients often feel overwhelmed or incredibly stressed. They feel like they can’t control their feelings, which causes them to feel messy and disorganized. This may lead to social anxiety or difficulties in their relationships, including at work and home. Often, shame is a central emotion that overshadows other feelings, leading them to feel worthless, a sentiment that can take a significant toll on their mental health.
Sean utilizes a therapy modality called Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) to help his clients. Through REBT, clients identify and challenge their irrational beliefs, including the views that they’re less than others or don’t deserve to be happy or loved. This cognitive-behavioral therapy modality can help individuals realize that their thoughts don’t necessarily require a related emotional response. This can help them avoid unhealthy behaviors, which can benefit their well-being. By offering clients a stable and trustworthy relationship, Sean allows them to improve their mental health and make significant internal changes.
Sean earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University. He has over ten years of experience and strives to make clients comfortable in each session. Clients better understand who they are when working with Sean and grow their resilience and self-compassion.
