Susan Littlefield is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist practicing in Rhode Island. She specializes in trauma, grief and loss, existential challenges, and parenting.
Susan’s approach is rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helps clients identify and understand the different parts of their whole selves. She often starts sessions with a diagram or ‘mapping,’ to create visual representations for clients to understand the relationships between their internal parts. Her work is trauma-informed, and she understands the fundamental need to go slowly with healing in order to foster compassion, comfort and success in treatment.
When working with clients grieving a loss, Susan encourages each individual to grieve at the pace that is best for them as each person's loss is unique, as is their grieving journey. It is her hope that through their work together, that clients will be able to truly honor the loss and the impact on their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual way of being and to learn to carry with them new meaning in the wake of their bereavement.
Susan cares deeply for each of her clients, and looks forward to welcoming you at her practice in East Greenwich.
