Terra Hailand is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor located in Astoria, NY. Many of her clients experience anxiety, including incessant worry or overwhelming fear. They might also feel depressed or resort to unhealthy coping behaviors to alleviate their emotional anguish. Terra also helps clients to improve their self-esteem and to decrease the stress in their lives.
Terra helps her clients by teaching them to utilize adaptive ways of coping when faced with distress. She creates a sense of mutual trust with her clients so they can begin to explore what’s holding them back from feeling joyful, connected, and fulfilled. Clients benefit from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), as well as psychodynamic therapy, when unpacking their past trauma and adverse experiences.
Terra is a strong advocate for accessible mental health and was drawn to becoming a therapist from an early age. She strives to address injustices within vulnerable communities and help individuals to find safe, compassionate spaces to talk about their experiences.
