Message to clients

I utilize a therapeutic approach that prioritizes psychological flexibility to help clients find balance in their lives. I believe that much of human suffering occurs when folks consistently live on the extreme ends of behavior, often because they feel that it is the only way for them to get by. For some, this means either bringing too much rigidity and inflexibility to their lives when control feels like the most important and safe option. For others, this might look like floating in ambivalence because making any one choice, or asserting oneself, feels too scary or overwhelming. I help clients recognize these unsustainable practices and work with them to cultivate a sense of compassion and gratitude for how they may have helped in the past. Then, the task is to chart a path towards different ways of being that feel authentic and important to the individual client, and no two cases look the same.

In my practice I bring expertise from evidence-based practices that draw on mindfulness, behavioral science, and trauma-informed care. I try to balance structure and flexibility in my work with my clients to model the psychological flexibility that I believe in so deeply, and above all have an empathetic stance while also challenging folks to live in accordance with their values even it is uncomfortable at times. I encourage you to reach out to schedule a free consultation if you are interested in learning more about working with me. Thanks for reading!
