Message to clients

Welcome! I'm Vito Pelikan, LMHC.

My approach to therapy is all about relationships. What is your relationship with your anxiety or depression? What is your relationship with your trauma, your past? What is your relationship with your thoughts on a daily basis? And how does it all affect how you relate to others?

I believe in the ability to work through challenging life events in an honest conversation with a trained professional. My place as your therapist is to listen, guide, and educate but never to apply judgement, give advice, or approach with bias. The therapeutic environment is a vulnerable place because of its honesty and authenticity. So, I invite you to feel comfortable to have an honest conversation with me and I will do my utmost to provide you with the best care possible.

In our first session, I will get a detailed look at your history and collaborate with you on a plan for treatment. I offer a free consultation to answer questions you have and see if we are a good fit. I see individuals, families, and couples. My approach to psychotherapy and counseling is strength-based it's core, rooted in humanistic, person-centered models, and is trauma-informed. I also draw from acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, compassion-focused therapy, and solution-focused therapy.
