Professional statement

Dr. Wayne Bullock has been providing therapy since 2009 and has sought out extensive specialized training to be able to make sure that the therapy experience he provides allows for you to not only reduce distressing feelings, but to improve your life beyond where you started. Dr. Bullock completed his doctorate in clinical psychology and a masters in human sexuality at Widener University in 2014 and then moved to NYC to pursue two years of intensive psychoanalytic post-doctoral training.

He moved to DC in 2016 to join a group practice, and he is now excited to continue to provide the same exceptional therapeutic experiences for you out of his own downtown DC practice. His practice is located off of Farragut Square, about a half block from both the Farragut North and West metros. He is currently seeing patients in-person only.

Dr. Bullock is passionate about therapy and connecting with people who take the step to show up to do this work, as he has witnessed time and again over the last 12 years how impactful and life-changing this work is. The experience of witnessing others realize how much they have changed from the process of therapy reminds him of how much we all need someone to help us to fully see ourselves and to have a space to make changes in our lives to get where we want to go.

Message to clients

I know that thinking about starting a process like therapy can be challenging, but I promise that the effort is worth it! Many different concerns bring people to therapy, but research shows that the vast majority benefit from therapy no matter what brings them into the office. Working together, I am confident in our ability to work through what brings you in and not only help you to better manage those concerns, but to get to a place where you're thriving in life and feeling a greater sense of satisfaction overall.

I work from a perspective that therapy is more than just a treatment for symptoms, or the "band aid" approach. I work to help you understand deeper dynamics beneath the surface that will aid in longer lasting symptoms reduction and a greater sense of satisfaction, emotional and physical well-being, and greater connection with others in your life.

I look forward to meeting you!
