Practice Information

Welcome to Behr Psychology. We are here to accompany you on your wellness journey and are THRILLED that you are making your mental health a priority!

It is our mission to bring you quality mental healthcare in the safest and most supportive setting possible. Our clinicians represent a wide array of perspectives, cultural backgrounds and clinical specialties and are all focused on providing the best most attuned and fine-tuned care to our clients.

I'll briefly walk you through the process of working with one of our clinicians. First, you'd schedule a call with our amazing practice manager Amanda who will chat with you to determine your mental health needs, determine your payment options while answering any and all of your questions and then set you up with an appointment with the best fit therapist. You will then meet with your therapist and get started along your therapy journey!

Our Founder and Director, Dr. Jessica January Behr built Behr Psychology with the intension of providing the most down-to-earth and authentic therapy because REAL people, with REAL problems deserve therapists who show up like REAL PEOPLE!

We look forward to hearing from you and are honored you consider us for this important role in your care.

How does payment work at your practice?

At Behr Psychology, our therapists are credentialed with Northwell Direct insurance, Lyra Health and Spring Health. If you are not enrolled in one of those plans, we can work with you using your out-of-network benefits.

We will check your benefits, help you determine if you have a deductible, determine a session fee that works for you and will submit all of your out-of-network claims for you on your behalf. Most of our out-of-network clients receive between 50-80% of their sessions fees back in reimbursement. If you're not sure how this works, don't worry, we will explain it all to you clearly and love answering questions!
