Practice Information

Closetless Mental Health Counseling is a therapy practice that offers high quality mental health care for individuals and couples. Many of the clients at Closetless Mental Health Counseling come from marginalized communities who have experienced challenges communicating with and feeling understood by healthcare providers, including other therapists, in the past. They specialize in working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, including those who are in polyamorous or non-monogamous relationships, sex workers, and those in the BDSM or kink community.

The therapists at Closetless Mental Health Counseling strive to make all clients feel welcomed into the therapy space, as they recognize that many of their clients have previously experienced discrimination, stigma, or gender dysphoria, which has led to heightened importance for feelings of safety and non-judgment. Clients benefit from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), learning how to better understand the many patterns and connections between thoughts, feelings, and actions. Clients also explore, with therapist support, their values and what’s important for them, aligning their lives to these values.

Closetless Mental Health Counseling also offers two support groups, one for those going through grief and another for the friends and family members of LGBTQ+ individuals. Therapists work from an intersectional and affirming framework, providing clients with the therapeutic space they need to heal and grow.
