Searchlight Psychological Service is a practice located in Columbus, OH that serves children, teenagers, adults, and parents. We specialize in evidence-based assessment and treatment of wide-ranging mental health concerns. Our providers primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is the gold-standard psychological treatment for disorders such as anxiety, depression, OCD, and conduct/behavioral problems. We also treat individuals experiencing difficulties adjusting to stressful life situations (e.g., chronic illness, interpersonal conflict), insomnia, mild substance use problems/behavioral addiction, and a number of other presenting problems. Our assessment specialty includes ADHD (child and adult), giftedness, and psychological disorder.
In therapy, our providers take a skill-based, time-limited approach to help clients develop tools to cope with strong emotions and whatever challenges they may encounter. Although we are located in Columbus, we are available for clients across Ohio for virtual therapy services and assessment for those who can travel to the Columbus area.
We do not currently offer couple's or group therapy.
Individual therapy services, including the initial evaluation, are billed at $185 per session (approximately 50 minutes).
Assessment fees vary based on type and length of the evaluation, but generally fall in the range of $1500-3000.
Although we are not in-network with any insurance providers, we provide a "superbill" that details services provided. Depending on your plan, you may be able to receive reimbursement for services.
We offer immediate availability for therapy and assessment services. All providers at Searchlight Psychological Service have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and are experts in therapy methods that are shown by decades of research to be most beneficial for specific concerns. Our providers maintain a smaller-than-typical caseload, allowing us to provide highly individualized care. We recognize that every individual's needs differ, so our main goal is to actively collaborate with clients to develop a treatment plan that works best for you.
Our therapists most often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for concerns including anxiety, depression, OCD, addiction, ADHD skills deficits, conduct problems, insomnia, minority stress (e.g., homophobia, discrimination), chronic pain, and others. Other treatment modalities we use include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and mindfulness-based approaches.
