The mission of JCS is to sustain, nurture and strengthen the wellbeing of seniors, adults, children and families and to ensure access to a full continuum of care through the life cycle, within the framework of Jewish tradition and values.

The Counseling Center at JCS provides peace of mind by ensuring that everyone who comes to us can gain access to the resources they need. The Counseling Center offers hope & help to adults, children, adolescents, & their families.

Our clinical team members are master's level clinicians who have decades of experience working with people across the lifespan: children and teens, adults, and older adults.


What services does your practice offer?

The Counseling Center at JCS is located on North Main Street in Providence, RI and offers individual and couple counseling (in-person & telehealth), children's play therapy, art therapy and trauma-informed care.

We welcome all people, regardless of religious affiliation or background, to the Counseling Center at JCS. Our clients include: children, teens, adults, seniors, families, frontline workers, veterans, individuals with disabilities and people of all gender and sexual identities.

How does payment work at your practice?

Most major insurance companies, including Medicare and Medicaid.

For those without insurance, adjusted fees are available for counseling.

What are your practice's specialties?

As a multidisciplinary team, we have decades of experience providing mental health services in both community and private practice settings.

The Counseling Center at JCS provides a wide range of supports for clients with a variety of needs, including: Depression, Stress and Anxiety, Grief and Loss, Transition in Life, Adoption, Family Dynamics, Parental Supports, Relationship Issues, and trauma recovery.

Adjustment difficulties & disorders - Support around adapting to new and/or challenging life circumstances; skill-building for improved stress management and reduction of anxiety.

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

Aging related concerns - Coping with memory loss, loss of independence, and other physical and/or mental impacts of aging. May include support for family or caregivers and resource planning for changes in living situation.

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life

Life transitions - Coping with difficult or impactful life changes, such as moving to a new area, relationship transitions, child rearing, or career changes; learning self-care to better manage resulting stress

Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
