Zest Counseling is a therapy practice aimed at helping people embrace the most vibrant version of themselves. While our clinicians have different areas of expertise, they are all focused on creating meaningful relationships with their clients that become the bedrock for transformation.
Elizabeth Greene, LMHC, is Zest's founder and director. She received her master's degree in mental health counseling from the University of Massachusetts in 2012 and was honored to appear in New York Magazine's feature on "The Best Therapists in NY." Her work is influenced by advanced training in modalities that emphasize the way childhood relationships with caregivers can lay the groundwork for people's lives. Liz believes that through a caring relationship with a therapist, one's past no longer has to dictate one's future. Her clients find her to be warm, encouraging, and steadfast in her belief that they can transform their lives.
Jenae Spencer, LMHC, is an experienced therapist who has dedicated her professional life to alleviating anxiety. A highly skilled therapist, Jenae's toolbox is extensive. She utilizes mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), self-compassion practices, and biofeedback - including training heart rate variability (HRV) to improve nervous-system regulation. Jenae's clients find her calm, grounded demeanor to be therapeutic in and of itself!
Zest Counseling is a full-service therapy group practice that sees clients online. We see individuals, couples, and families and are experienced with teenagers and adults.
The therapists at Zest Counseling have training and expertise in a variety of areas, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, insomnia, eating disorders, addiction, and acute mental-health issues. Our work is highly relational -- creating a trusting, collaborative relationship between therapist and client is central to what we do. Two of our therapists practice with an awareness of the way childhood attachments to caregivers get played out later in life, and one of our therapists specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and specific modalities that treat anxiety, including mindfulness and biofeedback.
We are a boutique practice that believes in providing a concierge level of care to our clients. All of our therapists are fully licensed; we do not hire interns or people who are obtaining their post-master's supervision hours required for licensure. Our goal is not to hire as many therapists as possible; we want to stay small so that we can continue to give our clients the personalized attention we feel they deserve.
