I am Doris, a board-certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am a well-versed APRN with honed skills from years of mentoring by two of Chicagoland's most sought-after child psychiatrists and practical experience gathered at the acute, residential, and outpatient levels of care over more than 12 years. I have experience working with individuals ages 5 to 65+ with depression, mood, and anxiety disorders, ADHD, ASD, behavior disorders, eating disorders, traumas, and more.
Relying on the patient-centered model in my evaluation and treatment approach, I am committed to providing holistic and culturally competent individualized care that embodies the client’s developmental and bio-psycho-social histories in my treatment approach.
Given the complex and often intangible aspects of mental health conditions, I find that the patient's participation is crucial for effective treatment outcomes. Therefore, I view treatment planning as a collaborative effort, encouraging the client to actively engage in their care. This approach not only empowers them but also fosters a belief in their own ability to heal and regain their well-being.
