Dr. Annie Chen is a board-certified psychiatrist who provides evidence-based medication management for adults with a wide range of mental health concerns. She treats depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, and women's mental health concerns, including reproductive psychiatry. She enjoys working with adults of all ages and has a particular interest in supporting adolescents, college students, and young professionals as they navigate major life transitions.
Dr. Chen believes that effective psychiatric care begins with listening. She takes the time to understand each patient's experiences, goals, and unique circumstances before developing a personalized treatment plan. Her approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in the latest evidence, with the goal of helping patients achieve lasting improvements in their mental health and overall quality of life.
A New Jersey native and the daughter of Taiwanese immigrants, Dr. Chen earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from UCLA, a master's degree in Psychology in Education from Columbia University, and completed post-baccalaureate studies in Pre-Health at NYU before earning her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. Having trained in New York City, she has extensive experience caring for patients with diverse backgrounds and psychiatric needs, and she is especially passionate about working with first- and second-generation Americans.
