Professional statement

Dr. Tytell is a psychiatrist practicing in RI and Massachusetts. She is a faculty member of the Brown University Warren Alpert Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior. Dr. Tytell has experience in both complex psychopharmacology as well as psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis . She works with both adults and college and graduate students as they navigate the challenges and complexities of academic life, interpersonal relationships, and life transitions. She is committed to helping her patients overcome any emotional or mental health issues that may be affecting their happiness and success in life.

Dr. Tytell specializes in long-term and intensive treatments with individuals with a history of trauma, anxiety, and mood disorders who are looking to make deep and lasting changes in the way that they approach relationships, work, and life. She works to provide a safe and compassionate environment in order to allow patients to develop a deeper understanding of themselves. Often, patterns of thinking, relating, and behaving develop in childhood that make it difficult to manage relationships, be successful in school, in one’s career, or in many aspects of their life. The goal is to develop increasing flexibility and healthier ways of relating, which allow for deeper and more connected relationships and more fulfilling and productive lives.

Dr. Tytell received her MD and completed her psychiatry residency at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She previously completed residencies in internal medicine and emergency medicine at Northwestern University. She completed psychoanalytic training at the Massachusetts Institute of Psychoanalysis in Boston.
