Dr. Kamleh Shaban is a Psychiatrist located in Denver, CO. Dr. Shaban has extensive experience working with individuals of all ages, from children to adults. She is passionate about helping clients overcome difficult past experiences, including trauma, as they seek treatment for their current symptoms. Many of her clients suffer from the impacts of ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and more. She helps clients establish a more comfortable life that is fulfilling for them.
In therapy with clients, Dr. Shaban combines her medical background with more holistic care. When appropriate, she offers medication management to help clients better control their emotions, especially those that negatively impact their daily lives. She also utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other mindfulness-based practices with clients to grow their self-awareness and to better understand their thoughts, feelings, and physical reactions. Through conversations about the mind, body, and spirit, Dr. Shaban empowers clients to take care of themselves and prioritize their mental health. She will help improve your physical and mental health through meaningful and doable lifestyle changes.
Dr. Shaban earned her MD from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed her residency and Child/Adolescent fellowship in Psychiatry at the University of Louisville. She provides culturally competent, inclusive mental health services and ensures that her sessions are helpful for clients of all backgrounds. Her goal is to help clients live their values and strengths as they reach for their goals.
ADHD - Skill-building and support around organizational challenges, distracted attention, procrastination; building and maintaining healthy routines and structure
Adolescent mental health - Working with adolescents, teenagers, and parents on social, academic, and/or emotional challenges throughout teenage years; addressing anxiety, family conflicts, peer relationships, school stress, transition to college, social media pressures, self-esteem, hopelessness about the future, emotional disregulation
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Mood disorders - Clinical depression, persistent depression, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders that cause disturbances in the client's mood, causing mood swings, restless sleep, and/or elevated mood
Mind-body connection - Practicing mindfulness to draw together how the body feels physically and how the mind feels mentally; healing both physically and mentally
