Professional statement

I completed a six-year combined undergraduate-graduate medical school program at the University of Missouri, earning my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Doctorate of Medicine. I completed my residency at the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt program in Baltimore, followed by a Forensic Psychiatry fellowship through Columbia University in New York City.

I have worked in a variety of mental health settings (inpatient hospitals, emergency rooms, and forensic hospitals). In addition, I have served as a supervisor for medical students and psychiatric residents. I have expertise in treating psychotic disorders, mania, depression, and anxiety, and I am an advocate for minority mental health.
