Professional statement

As an LPC Associate supervised by Brandi M Smith, PhD. serving individuals and couples in the state of Texas, Abby Endashaw often works with adults, teens, and couples experiencing life transitions, emotional stress, and relational conflict on their journeys toward wholeness. For some this might look like finding coping skills to grow through feelings of depression and anxiety; for others, it can look like reflecting on how formative relations from childhood impact relationships with the individual and their communities today.

At her practice, Aligned Therapy, Endashaw will explore the nature of each client's personal emotional landscape. Why does one feel what they feel? What are our emotions trying to teach us? And of course, how can one bring about the change and healing they want to see in their life? Using a narrative therapy approach, Endashaw believes these questions can lead each person stepping into her virtual office, the chance to experience greater alignment between who they are and the life they lead and who they hope to be.

Message to clients

In a world that is overscheduled and busy, it can be so liberating to enter a space where you can just be. As a therapist, I believe part of my job is to facilitate an environment where you can ask yourself the hard questions you may have been avoiding in the hustle and bustle of your work week. It may have been a while since you've had the time to think about who you are, where you are, and where you want to be. Partnering with a therapist is one way to ask for help and in doing so, care for yourself.

I choose to practice in a fully virtual office which allows folks to grapple with their challenges from the comfort and privacy of their own homes. I take a collaborative approach to my practice, meaning that I will assume that you are the expert! My job, especially early on, is to listen well and understand the unique experience and history you bring to the table. From a place of understanding, we can then move to a space of reflection, re-membering, and reframing.

The first step towards healing, is asking for help. Please let me know if I can be of assistance to you in your journey.
