Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCAlexandra Pierotti is a Mental Health Counselor in New York who specializes in helping individuals work through and overcome issues related to depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, gender/sexuality and sexual dysfunction. Her clients come from diverse backgrounds, but are all seeking a safe place to explore and address both recent and long-standing issues related to their mental health. Alexandra is also passionate about working with clients who are members of the LGBTQ+, kink/BDSM, consensual non-monogamy/poly and sex work communities.
Alexandra’s approach is integrative and based upon each client’s individual needs, with the understanding that no single approach is able to encompass every client’s specific journey. Alexandra draws from a range of approaches including psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing and others. She is also trained in EMDR, and works with it’s application to a range of issues, including PTSD, complex trauma, chronic pain and trauma in First Responders and Veterans.
Alexandra works to create a non-judgmental and safe space to foster the development of a client-therapist relationship that is the key to any successful therapy. This foundation will allow the space needed to explore and move past prior traumatic and painful experiences, overcome current life stressors and foster personal strengths and growth to empower each client.
Alexandra received her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Baruch College in 2019. In addition to her experience working in an outpatient setting, she has gained clinical experience at the Westchester Behavioral Health Center division of New York Presbyterian Hospital since 2017.
