Alyssia is a clinical social worker & behavior analyst, & obtained her ADHD-CCSP. She has extensive experience in supporting those that might align with a neurodivergent experience or find themselves navigating: ADHD, AuADHD, Autistic, learning differences. This experience has been from individuals to families, and across the lifespan (early learners, children, adolescents, teens adults).
In going beyond a label and diagnosis some needs that may present and/or impact day to day: executive dysfunction, rejection sensitivity, navigating communication and interpersonal dynamics (e.g. boundaries, passive versus assertive communication, people pleasing), justice sensitivity, low self-esteem, rebelliousness and/or demand avoidance. In addition to recently diagnosed individuals, individuals that align with this presentation, along with parenting a child that may be neurodivergent.
She also has extensive experience in working with others navigating anxiety and its impact in day-to-day life. This may range from social anxiety, to more generalized, or specific fears. In addition to experience working with individuals impacted by needs under the obsessive-compulsive spectrum (e.g. OCD: contamination, order, doubt/checking; body focused repetitive behavior). Due to a presentation of overlap & co-existence she is familiar in supporting individuals that may find themselves navigating profile that may include ADHD & Anxiety; ADHD & OCD; Autistic & Anxiety. She's also experienced in supporting first-gen individuals, & those managing depression.
In her work, she is strengths-based and behaviorally focused, with an eclectic approach. Some of the strategies may be from and/or informed by behavior therapy (e.g. CBT, ACT), exposure therapy, relational frame theory, systems approach, person-centered, metacognition focused, and culturally sensitive. Focus varies on individual needs, but they may include symptom management/reduction, self-acceptance & advocacy, self-esteem, working through social and relational dynamics, working through internal and external factors (e.g. cognitive, behavioral, & environmental) may be impacting well-being, and integrating strategies to potentially improve well-being.

Building self esteem, self advocacy, and navigating the external & internal variables (e.g. rejection sensitivity, justice sensitivity, negative messaging).
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder). Avoidance of things trigger/exacerbate symptoms of anxiety.

Adjustment difficulties & disorders - Support around adapting to new and/or challenging life circumstances; skill-building for improved stress management and reduction of anxiety. Such as, graduating, changes in relationship, transition in schooling.
