Amanda Barnes is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Warwick, RI who specializes in mindfulness, life transitions, anxiety, mood disorders, relationships, and holistic therapy. She has expertise in working with women and men who are navigating major life transitions, including beginning or ending a relationship, divorce, fertility, postpartum depression, and/or becoming new parents. She sees children, parents, adults across the lifespan.
In Amanda’s work supporting people in abusive and unhealthy relationships, it has become further evident to her how much stress and toxic relationships affect a client’s physical health. Part of her approach is to help further the mind-body connection and relate the physical discomfort to the psychological stressors. She works to normalize their feelings and offers strategies to help in their day-to-day lives. Her goal is to empower her clients to make choices for themselves.
Amanda is there to support each of her clients as they embark down a new path. She is passionate about the work she does and wants to ensure her clients’ needs and goals are being met. Prior to being in private practice, she worked in various schools for nearly two decades. She received her MA and MEd from Columbia University Teachers College. She looks forward to meeting you.
