Andrea is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of Courageous Footsteps Counseling PLLC. Andrea works with adults who struggle with anxiety, trauma, burnout, and life transitions. Many clients seek Andrea’s help because they are feeling overwhelmed, hurt, lost, or stressed. Andrea’s goal is to help clients be able to identify the root causes of their anxiety, process their traumatic experiences, regain the ability to trust and make close connections with others, and learn practical skills that help them manage and decrease their anxiety and trauma triggers so they can bounce back from life challenges faster and more confidently.
Andrea practices from a place of compassion, validation, and hope. Her approach to therapy is to create a supportive and collaborative space where she comes along clients to help them highlight and build on their strengths, insight, resilience, and knowledge of themselves so they can grow, heal, and move forward. Andrea uses tools and techniques from various treatment methods to tailor counseling to the unique concerns and needs of every individual client. She has training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level I & Level 2), and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Andrea received her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University. She gained her experience working with diverse clients in a community mental health and group private practice setting. Outside of private practice, Andrea loves spending time with her family, reading, attending rock concerts, and traveling.
