Anita Van Dyke
She/Her/Hers
Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCShe/Her/Hers
Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCAnita works with individual adults by Teletherapy in Wisconsin and Iowa, offering convenience and accessibility to a wide variety of people. She uses an eclectic range of treatment approaches designed to benefit the client and the situation, and is trained in Grief issues, Mindfulness, EMDR, plus has taken numerous trainings over her 9 years as a counselor. In therapy, we discuss current situations, health and the client’s life experiences to create a plan for the counseling relationship. Anita believes that the client is the expert of their life and that the goal of all therapy is to arrive at that place where the client can say, “I’ve got this.”
Anita Graduated with an MA in Mental Health Counseling in 2013 from the University of Northern Iowa. After completing her Internship in a Substance Treatment Center, Anita volunteered for another treatment center and started her full time counseling career at a Community College in Cedar Rapids Iowa. She worked with a diverse adult population for over six years, before moving to the Madison Wisconsin area, where she opened a Private Practice.
Previous to becoming a therapist, Anita’s background started with a BA in Finance and several years working in the consumer finance world, as well as with the FDIC and eventually with banking attorneys. After a gap in career to take care of family, she worked in several schools and eventually as a Professional Organizer, which led her back to the career she originally wanted…as a Therapist!
