Professional statement

Anna Dillingham is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor currently based in Stockholm, Sweden, offering remote therapy to clients located in U.S. states where she is licensed. Anna works with young adults and adults navigating life transitions, relational patterns, cultural shifts, questions of belonging, and the ways earlier painful experiences may still be shaping present-day life.

Many of Anna’s clients are thoughtful, capable people who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, self-critical, or disconnected from a more authentic sense of Self. In times of change, familiar protective patterns can become more visible — including shame, avoidance, perfectionism, over-responsibility, or difficulty trusting oneself and others. Anna helps clients approach these patterns with curiosity, compassion, and clarity, understanding how they have protected them while creating space for new choices, deeper self-trust, and meaningful change.

Anna’s approach is integrative, relational, and trauma-informed. She is a Certified EMDR therapist and is trained in Intensive EMDR, including Adjunct Intensive EMDR for clients already working with another therapist. She also draws on IFS-informed parts work, mindfulness, somatic awareness, and depth-oriented reflection. Her work supports clients in moving beyond insight alone toward healing that can be felt in how they relate, choose, and live.

Anna earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and brings 10 years of clinical experience supporting clients through trauma-informed, depth-oriented therapy. Her work reflects a deep respect for the complexity of each person’s inner life and the possibility of meaningful healing, growth, and authentic change.

Message to clients

Welcome, and thank you for your interest. Whether you are new to therapy, returning after a break, or seeking a new therapeutic fit, I know it can take courage to begin. I hope you can acknowledge the care and intention already present in taking this step.

My hope is to offer a safe, steady, and collaborative space where we can explore what brings you to therapy now, what may be asking for attention, and what kind of support best fits your needs and pace. I believe in your capacity for healing, growth, and deeper self-trust, and I see my role as a supportive and grounded collaborator along the way.

Together, we can work toward understanding the patterns that have shaped you, honoring how they have helped you survive, and creating space for new choices, meaningful change, and a more authentic sense of Self.

Therapist's note

Is your insurance provider not on my listed of accepted providers?

I can help verify if you have out-of-network (OON) benefits. I use a billing service that automatically submits super bills for OON services to your insurance provider, for a small fee, and allows you to pay only your co-insurance for my sessions. This could save you up to 70% on my full rate every session.

Ask to verify if you have out-of-network benefits before your first session!
