Psychologist, PhDDr. Anna Huff is a Psychologist located in New York, NY. Dr. Huff works with young adults and adults who would like to work with a therapist to reach a greater level of wellbeing. Many of Dr. Huff’s clients start therapy because they feel overwhelmed with their stress, whether that’s from their relationships, workloads, or drive for high achievement. Others suffer from anxiety or depression, which might be the result of going through a major life transition or trauma. Dr. Huff enjoys working with LGBTQ clients and those who have an interest in the mind-body connection.
Dr. Huff practices several evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy modalities. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) helps clients integrate their traumatic experiences into their understanding of the past, which can help them feel safe in the present. Dr. Huff has additional training in EMDR therapy, and offers it to clients alongside several effective coping techniques to use in moments of distress. She also teaches clients the Emotional Freedom Technique, also called Tapping. This therapy modality combines somatic therapy with cognitive-based therapy techniques. Dr. Huff is passionate about guiding clients through meditation and mindfulness practices. Alongside being a therapist, Dr. Huff is a Level II Shamanic Reiki Provider.
Dr. Huff earned a PhD in Clinical Forensic Psychology with a concentration in Victimology. She also holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Behavior, and has extensive training in EMDR and Tapping therapy techniques. She views thoughts and feelings as forms of energy, and helps clients to resolve and release the negative energies that hold them back.
