Professional statement

Beth McMurray is a Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist in Providence, RI. She works with clients ages 15 and up who struggle with stress and anxiety, depression, trauma and grief and loss issues – all the conditions, in other words, that underlie and often drive eating disorders, exercise addictions, substance abuse, and other maladaptive coping skills.

Couples and Family Therapy are a big part of Beth's practice as well. The basis for all healthy relationships is honesty, including the relationship with your therapist. She will help create a safe space where you can speak freely without fear of judgment.

Beth believes in the value of homework and that the bulk of the therapeutic process happens between sessions. With the goal of providing maximum support, each client will have the ability to connect with her between sessions via e-mail and through Recovery Record.

Beth is an outpatient therapist with Be Collaborative Care, 439 Benefit St. in Providence. She is also available for remote sessions.

Message to clients

My aim as your therapist is to help you connect to your authentic self, with honesty and without self-judgement. Daily life can feel overwhelming when our hearts are hurting, or the stress of school or work or transitions have us paralyzed. I’ll help you break things down into manageable parts, to connect with new (or old) parts of your preferred self and bring that forward, to let go of old ideas and beliefs about self that may no longer be relevant.
