Professional statement

Bryan Leach is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with years of experience working with individuals and couples. Many of Bryan's clients begin therapy because they feel "stuck," often indicating that "doing everything right" has not made them as happy as they had hoped it would. Bryan provides a judgment-free space for clients to explore these feelings, discover what truly matters to them, and consider whether there may be a better path forward.

Bryan’s approach to therapy is rooted in evidence-based, psychodynamic principles, which focus on the impact of unresolved internal conflicts, relationships with others, and sense of self on how people understand and interact with the world around them. Bryan helps clients explore their emotions and gain insight into their characteristic ways of operating, which in turn creates a pathway to long-term change.

Bryan is a culturally aware provider who tailors treatment to the unique needs of each client and seeks to create a safe, supportive environment in which to assist all clients in working toward their goals. Bryan also has extensive experience working with individuals who identify as being part of the LGBTQ+ community.

In addition to his clinical experience, Bryan’s practice is informed by years of working in the fields of digital marketing, investment banking, and theatre. This background makes him uniquely suited to support clients navigating challenges related to their experience in similar environments.

Bryan is currently offering in-person sessions at his office in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City, as well as remote sessions via video conference.

Message to clients

I believe that therapy provides a unique opportunity for clients to explore and understand themselves in a way that is empowering and transformative. It’s easy to get caught up in the same routines and patterns of behavior you’ve always known, including those that don’t work for you anymore. Creating a space to delve into those patterns, explore your feelings, and consider new ways of being with yourself and others can be a meaningful catalyst for change.

I enjoy getting to know my clients and developing a deep understanding of who they are, what they want in life, and how we can work together to get there. I support clients in the pursuit of their treatment goals by showing respect and curiosity, building a strong therapeutic relationship, and utilizing evidence-based techniques. Therapy is a collaborative and deeply personal process, and I am grateful that I have the opportunity to be a part of it.
