Carolyn Solo is a social worker in Blue Bell, PA. She works with young adults and adults. Many of Carolyn’s clients come in to address trauma, maternal mental health, and dissociative disorders. Carolyn is particularly passionate about serving parents and those wanting to become parents and clients who have experienced significant trauma. She also has advanced training in treating dissociative disorders, PTSD, postpartum anxiety, depression, and psychosis.
Carolyn is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR,) psychodynamic therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), of which EMDR is her primary modality. EMDR is a holistic mind and body approach to clearing the symptoms and effects of trauma that reside throughout the body and the mind. In addition to trauma reprocessing through EMDR, in session, Carolyn focuses on breathing exercises, grounding exercises, and therapeutic journaling. This approach empowers clients to move towards a peaceful and joyful future free of the symptoms of trauma.
Carolyn's style is warm, relational, and trauma-informed. When clients first start therapy, Carolyn works diligently to create safety, understand the client's history and presenting issues, and collaboratively set goals with clients.
Carolyn received their MSS from Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. She has worked at local community mental health agencies in Philadelphia, serving clients with a wide range of diagnoses and significant trauma histories. Outside of her private practice, she enjoys running, mountain biking, and anything that involves being outside.. Carolyn is offering in-person sessions for fully vaccinated clients, and virtual therapy for all clients.
