Dr. Caron Post has been practicing psychotherapy for over 30 years. She is a licensed clinical psychologist in Venice, California who helps clients navigate such issues as anxiety, including social anxiety and panic disorders, depression, and relationship concerns; others are grappling with more existential challenges about life’s meaning. Helping clients learn both how to bear and manage difficult states of mind and emotions and then in turn allow those energies to be channelled toward personal transformation is an important part of the work.
Dr. Post works with clients across the lifespan. Some of Dr. Post's clients are young professionals confronting a shift in identity or a life transition. Others are in different phases of life. In addition to working with individuals, Dr. Post also welcomes couples to her practice. She helps couples improve the quality of their relationships, by helping them better understand themselves and each other as well as learning effective communication skills.
She frequently helps couples unravel the roots of disconnect in their relationship, including those pertaining to their respective families of origin. She works with couples of all sexual orientations and genders. She integrates her knowledge across modalities to incorporate various approaches, including psychoanalytic/psychodynamic understandings. and attachment theory and practice, interpersonal neurobiology, She is an based in Los Angeles, and works with many people via videoconferencing. Dr. Post also specializes in emotional resilience, and has given workshops on coping with difficult emotions and states and cultivating one's strengths during the pandemic and these unusually difficult times. She brings these practices into her work with individual clients as well.
