Cassandra R. Mitchell, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Counseling Supervisor who specializes in individual, group, couples, children, and family counseling and consulting. She is passionate about Mental Health and wellness, and her mission is to help each client become healthier and more balanced.
Cassandra wants each client to feel accepted, respected, and understood. Her approach combines cognitive-behavioral, solution-focus, and client-centered. Recently, Cassandra has begun incorporating relational-cultural and mindfulness techniques into her practice for a more inclusive and holistic approach. She is willing to tailor the therapeutic dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
As a child and adult therapist for nearly ten years, Cassandra has worked with clients with a wide range of backgrounds and concerns, including trauma, depression, anxiety, conflict resolution, parenting issues, ADHD, autism, substance abuse issues, and coping with grief and stress. Her favorite saying is:

Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Adolescent mental health - Working with adolescents, teenagers, and parents on social, academic, and/or emotional challenges throughout teenage years; addressing anxiety, family conflicts, peer relationships, school stress, transition to college, social media pressures, self-esteem, hopelessness about the future, emotional disregulation
Child mental health - Specialized strategies for common childhood disorders including attention issues, attachment problems, behavioral disorders, learning disorders, autism spectrum diagnoses, and feeding or elimination issues.
Race & cultural identity - Exploring topics of racial, cultural, and ethnic background as it relates to one’s family origins and personal identity
