Dr. Dean draws from various therapy practices when working with clients. When helpful, he uses elements of Existential Therapy to encourage clients to think through what’s important for them and what they want to accomplish in their lives. He also utilizes Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) to help clients process traumatic events. Dr. Dean also brings in exercises from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), teaching clients how to avoid harmful cognitive distortions that lead to negative self-talk. In therapy with Dr. Dean, clients set goals for themselves and work towards those goals in each session by talking through their thoughts and feelings. Clients learn how to establish self-care practices that are authentic, effective, and easy to incorporate into their daily lives.
Dr. Dean earned his PsyD after over 10 years of therapy practice. He has extensive experience supporting clients and empowering them to seek fulfillment in their lives. He encourages clients to get out of their comfort zone and explore their stress reactions to find what works for them.
