Professional statement

Chiaki Sasaki, PsyD, is a licensed psychologist in California and New York with over 15 years of experience. Based in San Francisco, she provides virtual therapy to clients across both states. Dr. Sasaki specializes in supporting driven professionals, creatives, and high achievers who may appear successful outwardly but privately struggle with stress, perfectionism, burnout, or a quiet sense of disconnection.

Whether you're an anxious high achiever constantly in overdrive, a chronic people-pleaser nearing burnout, or someone stuck in unhelpful relationship patterns, she offers a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore your inner world and begin the process of healing and meaningful transformation.

Dr. Sasaki takes an integrative approach, tailoring therapy to each individual’s emotional and self-growth needs. Recognizing that no single model fits all, she draws from a range of evidence-based and depth-oriented modalities, including psychodynamic therapy, CBT, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and mindfulness-based practices. Her work focuses on uncovering the patterns and beliefs that keep clients stuck and guiding them toward meaningful, lasting change.

Message to clients

Raised in Japan and professionally trained in the U.S., I bring a culturally nuanced lens to therapy—blending Eastern perspectives with evidence-based Western psychology. My work is grounded in the belief that resilience isn’t about pushing harder; it’s about deepening the way we relate to ourselves.

Outside of my clinical work, I turn to yoga, dance, gardening, and holistic self-care practices rooted in traditional healing systems. These support my own well-being and often inform the way I think about balance, restoration, and the mind-body connection.

I specialize in working with driven professionals, creatives, and high achievers who appear successful on the outside but privately carry stress, perfectionism, burnout, or a quiet sense of disconnection. You may feel like something is “off,” even if everything looks fine. Together, we create space to explore that, make sense of it, and move forward with greater intention, groundedness, and depth in a fast-paced world.
