Professional statement

Christie Lebrun is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Downtown Boston. She works with individuals who want to embrace healthy selfishness—the ability to care for themselves without guilt, set boundaries with confidence, and prioritize their well-being without feeling like they’re letting others down. Christie also has advanced training in the area of Adjustment Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), and Trauma-related Disorders.

Christie is trained in Expressive Arts Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Existential Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, Trauma-informed approaches, and Holistic Approaches such as mindfulness and therapeutic journaling, in which she utilizes the therapeutic relationship and the arts to explore patterns in thoughts, behaviors, and beliefs to clarify goals, values, and sense of self. In session, Christie focuses on grounding techniques, breathing exercises, and creative arts such as journaling, play, music, and visual arts, to explore concerns around self-expression. This approach supports clients to learn how to take care of themselves, understand themselves - and then express themselves so they can be understood by others.

Christie's style is non-judgmental, adaptive, and grounded. When clients first start therapy, Christie will work to build a comfortable and non-judgmental environment where they feel safe to explore past experiences and set achievable goals.

Christie received their M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling specializing in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. She has worked at Bay State Community Services, serving youth and families supported by the Department of Mental Health. Outside of private practice, Christie enjoys traveling, arts-based activities, such as painting, dancing, creative writing, etc., and nature-based activities, such as hiking, stargazing, and tree-hugging.

Christie offers both in-person and remote therapy sessions.

Message to clients

You always put others first, leaving your own needs on the back burner. Speaking up for yourself feels uncomfortable—maybe even guilt-inducing. Setting and maintaining healthy boundaries or saying no makes you feel "bad." You’re constantly running on empty, overwhelmed, and stretched too thin, with little time for yourself. You’re tired of feeling this way. Something has to change—and you don’t have to do it alone. I help individuals prioritize their well-being without guilt, so they can create a balanced life with boundaries, self-compassion, and emotional resilience.

What if you could take care of yourself and your responsibilities—without feeling drained? I can help you cultivate empowered self-care practices so you can fully show up for what matters most—your career, relationships, and passions. I offer therapy for stress, life transitions, anxiety, and depression.

Self-care shouldn’t be the last thing on your to-do list. Together, we’ll explore the root causes of your feelings, identify behavior patterns, build a personalized “toolbox” of skills, and practice techniques that help you feel empowered. You deserve a life where balance and well-being come naturally. Let’s get started—email me to schedule a free consultation.
